How to Share Access to Your Digital Marketing Tools

How to Share Access to Your Domain Login

Your domain is your web address with a .com, .org, .net or other extension that you purchased from a registrar such as GoDaddy, Network Solutions, Namecheap, etc. We may need to access it for a number of reasons.

Please share with us the username and password you use to access it. If you have multi-factor authentication enabled, your provider may email or text you a code that you will need to forward to us as well.

How to Share Access to Your Email Marketing Platform

Depending on the platform you use, you may need to provide your login details, give us access by adding SageMG as a user, or accept our invitation to connect to your account.

If you use Mailchimp:

We will request access to your account through Mailchimp. All you need to do is approve it when you get the email from Mailchimp, and we’ll take care of the rest.

If you use Constant Contact:

  1. Log in to your Constant Contact account.
  2. Click the profile name in the upper right and select Account settings from the drop-down.
  3. Click the Manage users tab.
  4. Click Add New User.
  5. Enter webmaster@sagemg.com in the email address field
  6. Select Account manager
  7. Click Send invite
  8. In the confirmation box, click Got it

If you need assistance with another platform, just ask your account manager.

How to Share Access to your Meta (Facebook) Business Manager

(For Managing Pages and Ad Accounts)

The easiest way to give SageMG access to manage your page and your ads account is to make us a partner through your Meta Business Manager. Don’t have a Business Manager account? Get started here.

  1. Go to Settings in your Business Manager
  2. Below Users, select Partners
  3. Click Add, then click Give a partner access to your assets.
  4. Enter Sage’s Partner Business ID. Your account manager will give you that number.
  5. Select all the assets that are available.
  6. Choose full control access to your assets and click Assign assets.

How to Share Access to Your Google Analytics

In order for us to track your website data, we will need access to your Google Analytics account and the best and easiest way to share access is to make analytics@sagemg.com an admin.

  1. Sign in to Google Analytics 
  2. Click on Admin in the lower left.
  3. Click Account access management.
  4. Click the plus icon in the upper right. Select Add Users.
  5. Enter analytics@sagemg.com in the email address bar. Click Administrator, then click the blue Add button in the upper right.

How to Share Access to Your Google Business Profile

If you have verified your business profile on Google, you can give us access to help you manage it by:

  1. Going to your profile by searching Google for your business name. Be sure you are logged into the Google account that you used to claim your profile.
  2. Click the three dots in the upper right and click Business Profile settings, then People and access.
  3. Click Add, then enter analytics@sagemg.com. Select Owner, then click Invite.

How to Share Access to Your Google Tag Manager Account

If you are using Google Tag Manager, it will be helpful to have access to your account to keep your containers up to date.

  1. Log in to your account at tagmanager.google.com.
  2. At the top left, click Admin, then User Management.
  3. Click the blue + icon and click Add User.
  4. Enter analytics@sagemg.com and check Administrator.
    1. Click Invite.

How to Share Access to Your Website Hosting

Your hosting company stores all the files needed for your site to be available on the Internet. It might be GoDaddy, Blue Host, Hostgator, or any number of hosting companies. If you don’t know where your site is hosted, we can find out.

Please share with us the username and password you use to access it. If you have multi-factor authentication enabled, your provider may email or text you a code that you will need to forward to us as well.

How to Share Access to Your Instagram Account

If you have already connected your professional (not your own personal) Instagram account to your Business Manager, we can access it from there. If you have not, this is how to do it:

  1. Go to Business settings. Under Accounts, click Instagram account.
  2. Click Add in the upper right.
  3. Click Connect your Instagram account. Enter your Instagram username and password. If you have multi-factor authentication enabled, you may be sent a security code to verify your identity.
  4. You will have the option to connect ad accounts and pages to your Instagram if they aren’t already. Check the available options. Click Finish.

How to Share Access to Your LinkedIn Company Profile and Ad Account

Through your LinkedIn Business Manager is the easiest way to give SageMG access to your LinkedIn accounts. If you don’t have a Business Manager, follow these directions to create one.

To add SageMG as a partner in your LinkedIn Business Manager:

  1. Sign in to LinkedIn Business Manager
  2. Click Partners on the left.
  3. In the field in the upper right next to the Add partner button, enter SageMG’s business manager ID. Your account manager will give you that number.
  4. Click Add partner.
  5. Click Sage Marketing Group on the partners page.
  6. Under the You shared tab, click Pages to share access to your page. Assign SageMG the role of Super Admin.
  7. Click Ad Accounts to share access to your ad accounts. You may choose the role of Billing Admin or Account Manager.

How to Share Access to Your Pinterest Account

The easiest way to help us manage your Pinterest account is to add us as a partner to your Business Manager. If you don’t have a Business Manager, follow these directions to create one.

To add SageMG as a partner in your Pinterest Business Manager:

  1. Sign into your Pinterest business account.
  2. Click the hamburger menu (three lines) in the top-left corner.
  3. Under Manage Business, select Business Manager.
  4. Click Partners on the left.
  5. Click Add partner. Enter the SageMG business ID. Your account manager will give you that number.
  6. Select Invite a partner to access your assets.
  7. Click Assign ad accounts to give us access to those. Choose the Admin
  8. Click Assign permissions.

How to Share Access to Your TikTok Account

The easiest way to help us manage your TikTok ad account is to add us as a partner to your Business Center. If you don’t have a TikTok Business Center account, start here.

  1. Sign into your TikTok Business Center.
  2. On the left, click Partners, then Add partner.
  3. Enter the SageMG Business Center ID. Your account manager will give you that number. Click Next.
  4. Assign us the role of Admin and choose the ad accounts and assets you would like us to be able to access.
  5. Click Confirm.

How to Share Access to Your Website

Sharing access to your Shopify website:

  1. Log in to your website.
  2. Go to Settings > Users and Permissions.
  3. In the Collaborators section, find the collaborator request code.
  4. Email that code to webmaster@sagemg.com so that we may send a collaborator request.

 

Note: In the collaborators section, “Only people with a collaborator request code can send a collaborator request” is checked by default. We recommend you require a collaborator request code so you may effectively control any requests you may receive.

 

Sharing access to your WordPress website:

We will need your WordPress login username and password. If you are comfortable working in the backend of your site, you can create a new user for Sage Marketing Group with the username SageMG instead.

Add a user to your WordPress site:

  1. Log in to your website.
  2. Scroll to Users on the left side of your dashboard and click Add New User.
  3. Enter SageMG as the username.
  4. Enter webmaster@sagemg.com as the email.
  5. Leave the Send User Notification box checked.
  6. Select Administrator as the role.
  7. Click the Add New User

How to Share Access to Your YouTube

 

For your YouTube channel:

  1. Log in to your channel at studio.youtube.com.
  2. Go to Settings > Permissions.
  3. Click Invite, enter webmaster@sagemg.com as the email, and select Manager
  4. Click Done.
  5. Click Invite again and enter analytics@sagemg.com as the email. Select Manager
  6. Click Done.

 

If you don’t have these options, your YouTube channel may be linked to a Brand Account:

  1. Log in to the Google account that manages your YouTube channel.
  2. Go to the Brand Accounts section of your Google Account and select the YouTube channel you want to share access to.
  3. Select Manage Permissions.
  4. Choose Invite new users.
  5. Enter webmaster@sagemg.com and analytics@sagemg.com.
  6. Choose the role of Manager for each.
  7. Click Invite, then Done.
