Telling Your Brand Story

Creating your Brand Playbook starts with putting words together into a story. We identify and create messaging components based on your input and your current brand, if you have one, and what you would like that brand to become.

To write your brand story, we use a Sageified version of the StoryBrand Framework. This brand story is truly a story that helps to demonstrate the benefits of your brand as the solution to a customer’s problems. It is a tool you can use to help explain how you can guide your customer in their quest to find success, whether it’s looking younger, paying 15% less for car insurance, or having the whitest teeth and freshest breath.

Your Customer is the Hero of your Brand Story

Every story needs a Hero. It’s your brand story, but your customer is the story's Hero. Your brand is the Guide that will lead the Hero to the solution to their problem.

Your Customer Has a Problem

There is some kind of villain in your customer’s way – think wrinkles, expensive insurance, or bad breath – and your story will explain how your brand will help to overcome it.

Your Customer Meets a Guide: You!

Your story will describe how your brand will be the Guide for your customer – the Obi-Wan Kenobi to your customer’s Luke Skywalker or the Professor Dumbledore to your customer’s Harry Potter.

You Have a Plan for Your Customer

A simple plan outlined in your story shows your customer how easy it is to do business with you, which will help solve their problem.

You Challenge Your Customer to Take Action

As Guide, you encourage your customer to follow through on your plan. It could be Buy Now, Get a Quote, or Use the Force – whatever makes the most sense.

By Taking Action, Your Customer Avoids Failure

People tend to be more motivated by the fear of loss than the excitement of gain. Your story points out some of the costs of not doing business with you that you can share with your customer.

Your Customer Finds Success
